Elia to commence construction on Ventilus high-voltage grid project in Belgium

Construction on the 82 km Ventilus high-voltage transmission project is scheduled to begin on September 14, 2026, involving a mix of overhead lines and underground cabling. While initial site work proceeds, the installation of specific underground segments and the 380 kV overhead line along the E403 is deferred until January 2027. This project is critical for expanding grid capacity in West Flanders to support renewable energy integration.
