Flanders modifies protected status of Fort Napoleon site in Ostend for residential development

The Flemish government has partially lifted the protected heritage status of the Fort Napoleon site in Ostend to facilitate a residential construction project by the Versluys group. Minister Ben Weyts justified the decision by citing the prior degradation of heritage value in the affected land parcels.
