Russian General-Colonel Lapin Appointed Vice Premier of Tatarstan

General-Colonel Alexander Lapin, a controversial Russian military commander, has been appointed Vice Premier of Tatarstan, a regional government role. This follows his earlier failed attempt to become a State Duma deputy, indicating a shift from military to civilian political roles. The appointment may reflect internal Kremlin personnel management, though its strategic significance is limited.
