Russia claims 1,029 Ukrainian drones downed in 24 hours

The Russian Ministry of Defense reports its air defense systems destroyed 1,029 Ukrainian drones in a single day, a figure that, if accurate, marks a significant escalation in drone warfare intensity. The claim is unverified and likely inflated for propaganda purposes, but it signals sustained high-tempo Ukrainian drone operations against Russian targets. This matters as it reflects the ongoing attritional air campaign and potential strain on Russian air defense resources.
