Colombian lawmaker challenges Ecopetrol president pick over ties to De la Espriella

Pacto Histórico congressman Kevin Gómez publicly questioned the appointment of Joaquín Gutiérrez as president of Colombia's state oil company Ecopetrol, alleging his experience is limited to being a friend and partner of businessman De la Espriella, whose operations in Cali are under scrutiny. The criticism signals political friction over the appointment and potential governance concerns at a key state enterprise, though the substantive impact on Ecopetrol's operations remains unclear.
