Iran's IRGC claims downing US MQ-9 drone over Strait of Hormuz

Iran's Revolutionary Guard claims it intercepted and destroyed a US MQ-9 drone over the Strait of Hormuz early Tuesday, per Fars news agency. The claim is unverified and follows a pattern of periodic US-Iran military incidents in the area. If confirmed, this escalates tensions in a critical chokepoint for global oil transit, raising the risk of miscalculation and potential supply disruption.
