Metrotel to acquire 6M Movistar clients, becomes Argentina's third operator

Metrotel, now controlled by funds Beacon and Nippur Fiber Holdings, will receive six million Movistar clients (four million in AMBA) pending Telecom board approval, becoming Argentina's third operator under the Tuenti brand. This divestment is required for approval of Telefónica's purchase, which has been stalled since 2025 awaiting Enacom. The move reshapes Argentina's telecom market, increasing competition against Personal and Claro.
